A reputed and growing organization is looking for an experienced and technically skilled System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience managing production servers, Linux/Windows environments, virtualization platforms, databases, monitoring systems, backups, and server security.

📝 Job Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the organization’s server infrastructure, ensuring system availability, security, performance, backup, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with both Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments, virtualization technologies, databases, monitoring tools, log-management systems, and network/server security.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Linux/Unix and Windows Servers.
• Manage and maintain virtualization platforms including VMware, Proxmox, XCP-ng, and XenServer.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain monitoring solutions such as Zabbix, Nagios, Cacti, MRTG, Grafana, and Observium.
• Monitor server performance, availability, resource utilization, and system health.
• Manage critical system backup and restoration processes.
• Develop and maintain reliable backup strategies for critical infrastructure and data.
• Implement and manage ELK Stack and other centralized log-monitoring systems.
• Retrieve, analyze, and investigate logs based on IP address, MAC address, and NAT logs.
• Install, configure, administer, and maintain MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Troubleshoot IP blacklisting, mail-server issues, server connectivity problems, and other infrastructure-related incidents.
• Perform regular server security audits and implement security improvements.
• Manage server patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation.
• Configure and maintain firewalls and other server-security mechanisms.
• Monitor system capacity and recommend infrastructure improvements.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating-system, application, and network-related server issues.
• Work with bare-metal servers and enterprise server hardware.
• Manage and troubleshoot RAID controllers, iDRAC, and related server-management technologies.
• Maintain proper technical documentation and system records.
• Respond to system incidents and minimize service downtime.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance and system health checks.
• Support IT infrastructure projects and other technical activities assigned by management.

✅ Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience administering production servers.
• Strong practical knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows Server administration.
• Strong understanding of server infrastructure and virtualization platforms.
• Hands-on experience with VMware, Proxmox, XCP-ng, or XenServer.
• Good knowledge of database installation, administration, backup, and restoration.
• Experience working with MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Practical experience with bare-metal servers, RAID controllers, iDRAC, and related hardware.
• Knowledge of server monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana, Cacti, MRTG, or Observium.
• Experience with centralized logging and ELK Stack is preferred.
• Knowledge of Bash, Python, Perl, or PHP scripting.
• Good understanding of server security, firewall configuration, patch management, and security auditing.
• Ability to troubleshoot IP blacklisting, mail-server, DNS, connectivity, and server-related issues.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to technical incidents.
• RHCE course completion is required; RHCE certification will be preferred.
• Equivalent practical Linux administration experience may be considered.
